a thankful election

Four years ago on election night, I lived in Chicago. We huddled at our favorite pub, and watched the election results. Through the disbelief and grave disappointment, Barak Obama was also elected to the Senate for our state of Illinois. For me and for my friends in the room, I can say that we knew there shined a light.
